Many of you may be surprised by the fact that Steve Irwin has been gone for 10 years. We still remember clearly seeing him on TV and the efforts that he put forth, not only to make us understand nature and to make us smile but for the conservation efforts he was involved in as well. Although he was fearless when dealing with animals, he never lost his respect for them and it helped us to see the world in a very different and unique way.
There are many moments that we may remember from Steve, but one that is a favourite for many of us is the time that he got chased up a tree by a Komodo dragon. He saw that this creature had a fishing hook and wire in his mouth so he tried to remove it, being the kind person but he was.
Dealing with a Komodo dragon one-on-one is certainly a brave thing to do, but it wasn’t long before he had put himself in harm’s way and needed to remove himself from the situation. In order to get out of the way, he had to climb a tree and it is absolutely hilarious to watch.
