Ben and Taryn are just your average young couple living in Spring, Texas, a small city not far from Houston, home to about 54,000 residents. The two are high school sweethearts, but Ben was raised in Ireland while Taryn was born and raised in Spring.
The two dated for a few years, and in 2016, Taryn became pregnant, which prompted Ben to develop a strong desire for them both to travel back to Ben’s homeland. Sadly, the couple didn’t have enough money to pay for a roundtrip flight to Ireland.

However, soon the couple’s prayers would be answered.
Six months after discovering Raryn was with child, the couple learned they were having a boy. The two soon-to-be parents were ecstatic!
Both Taryn and Ben worked in very stressful service industry jobs that didn’t pay much, which was why they worked as much as possible. Sadly, this also meant the two had schedules that were often opposite of one another, which didn’t give them much time to spend together.

In January 2017, about a month after they learned their baby’s gender, the couple were working harder than ever to raise money for a trip. However, life continuously got in the way of their plans. For Ben, it’s always been his dream to take his beloved to Ireland. And now that they were expecting a baby in a few months, he felt more determined than ever to make it happen.

But, their finances did not improve much, and the couple finally decided they couldn’t afford it.
A few days after the couple seemed to resign themselves to the fact their dream trip wasn’t going to happen before Taryn gave birth, Ben received a mind-blowing tip from an out-of-town customer he’d never seen before. The tip was $750!

Ben and the customer had engaged in small talk when the young man shared his dream of taking his bride-to-be and their unborn child to visit his family in Ireland.
After the stranger left, Ben started to clean the table for the next customer. When he collected the receipt, it read:
“Hopefully, this can get you back to Ireland for the holidays.”[1]

Ben shared the amazing news with his girlfriend by casually showing her the receipt after his shift was over. Taryn took a photo of the receipt and posted it on Facebook, where it quickly went viral.
The couple was soon able to travel to Ireland along with their adorable newborn baby boy.
