As a driver of a bus, you have a huge responsibility for the lives of others. You have to totally concentrate on the road to ensure your passengers remain safe. But your job entails a whole lot more than that, you need to be observant, the security guard for anyone using the bus and of course you need to collect the money for the tickets. The life of a bus driver is certainly a busy one. But for one driver Tim Watson a Valley Transportation Authority Driver, he had to be all of those things above as well as a detective, and his observational and parental skills potentially saved a young boy’s life.
Having heard earlier in the day about a missing three-year-old boy, Tim became suspicious of a man and a little boy, who were passengers on his bus. The little boy seemed unnaturally upset and seemed to fit the description of the missing child. Tim hatched a clever plot, stopping the bus and pretending to be looking for a lost rucksack. This gave him he opportunity to check what shoes the little boy was wearing, as he knew the missing child was wearing red Crocs.
Upon seeing the red Crocs Tim knew this was indeed the boy in question, and unbeknownst to the man he called the police who were ready and waiting for the bus, boy, and the man when the bus pulled in at the bus station. Tim’s quick thinking potentially saved the little boy’s life. Watch the video below for the full story.
