6 Weeks Before He Dies, Elvis Performs This Version Of ‘Unchained Melody’

It’s difficult to believe that it’s been over 40 years since Elvis Presley passed away. It was back in 1977 when his sudden death shocked the world and fans were mourning the loss of this legend. His music touched lives back then both young and old, and it continues to touch lives down to this day.

When Elvis was alive, he was known to indulge in an unhealthy lifestyle. Included in the lifestyle were food, alcohol and drugs. By the time he died in 1977, he had multiple conditions that included bowel issues, depression and an enlarged heart. These are issues that followed him around on a day-to-day basis and they robbed him of his health, and eventually robbed him of his life.

Although he had those health issues, it didn’t stop him from performing during the final days. In fact, it was only six weeks before his death that he was on stage and performing this haunting version of Unchained Melody. You can feel the raw emotion in his voice as he sings the song the way that only he could.
