We sometimes hear about animals adopting other animals, even if they are different species. For example, a family may bring in a small kitten and the family dog takes it upon herself to care for the new arrival and even to nurse him! Most of us would not be surprised if that were to happen, but what if it was a chicken? That is exactly what happened on this farm, and you are going to be amazed with what has taken place.
It seems as if the cat decided to have her kittens in the chicken’s nest. When the chicken returned, she automatically assumed that the kittens were hers and began taking care of them. She even kept the mother cat away!
These type of instinctive actions can be funny to watch, but we certainly would not want to keep the kittens away from their real mother. They decided to lock the chicken away for a little while and the cat ended up hiding her kittens behind a hay bale. Eventually, the chicken had some chicks of her own, so the kittens were only a fond memory.
