Platypus is the only mammal in the world known to be laying eggs instead of giving birth. Its mouth is similar to a duck bill.
Apparently, both male and female are born with ankle spurs. But because only the male ones produce venom on their rear feet, the handlers on the video are safe from this female platypus.
And who wouldn’t love this playful platypus? As you can see, the animal swims back and forth in the water, and eats the food given to her.
History tells us that platypus is endemic to Australia, so don’t be surprised if the video was taken at Healesville Sanctuary in Victoria.
