When it comes to art, I only really enjoy the unusual, things that make my brain ache, things that amaze me or make me take a second look. If you were to look up the definition of Kinetic Sculpture in the dictionary, I think it would most likely describe everything above. In fact, it has taken me ages to even start to write this article as I was so mesmerised by the video you are about to watch.
Kinetic Sculpture basically means moving sculptures, normally but not always the movement and energy is generated by the wind. As you will see when you watch the video the process of describing the movement is a near impossibility, it’s almost like an optical illusion and looks simply amazing.
Anthony Howe the man responsible for these amazing pieces of art, explains “I don’t really want them to be like anything. I want them to be like nothing else you have ever seen before. ” Not only does Anthony design and come up with these wonderful sculptures, he also builds them all himself, although they are so complicated, I am unsure if anyone else would be able to read all the instructions. The amazing thing about these sculptures is not only do they amaze you, they also make you think deeply and I imagine could be excellent for meditation purposes as they are very relaxing to watch. What do you think?
