In a seaside city located in Batumi, Georgia, a 26 foot tall moving steel sculpture exists that tells an unimaginable story. The sculpture itself is named “Man and Woman”, and it was sculpted by Tamara Kvesitadze. It is meant to represent a Georgian Princess and Muslim boy from a famous novel written in 1937. These two individuals loved each other but they were separated because of the invasion of Soviet Russia.
At 7 PM, these two statues begin to move and they merge in what appears to be an embrace before they pass through each other and leave each other behind. It is a sad 10 minutes that occurs daily.
