A Unique Tour Of The British Isles According To Accent

Throughout the world, many people tend to lump anyone from the UK into a single mold. They refer to it as the “British accent” and they really don’t see any variation from one area to another. Those of us from the UK recognise, however, that accents do vary widely from one area to another and they can even vary from one side of town to the other side of town! It is a rather interesting phenomenon, and it is seen quite clearly through this video.

The man who is giving the description in this video is Andrew Jack. He is a voice coach and he is taking us on a tour of the British Isles. It is not a tour were we will see the sights but rather, it is a tour where we will hear the sounds. More specifically, it is the sounds of accents and how they differ from one area to another.

I have sometimes seen this described by comedians, and they do a fantastic job of imitating the accents and making us laugh about it. This video, however, gets to the core of the issue and really shows us exactly how diversified we are.
