We never know where life is going to take us. At times, we may find that we are at the height of our game and that the very next moment, we may be at the depths of despair. For Steve Gleason, a man who was an NFL superstar, life seemed to be going along very well. He was good at sports, had a loving wife and a baby on the way. He then was diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was then at a crossroads and knew that he needed to make a decision.
There is no cure, nor is there an effective treatment for ALS. He had to decide if he was going to allow this to simply take him down a dark path or if he was going to continue to create a family and a life that he had always dreamed of.
