5 Boys Were Asked Why One Student Is A Bullying Victim. The Last Boy’s Response Left Me Speechless

Most of us would admit that bullying is a serious problem, but unless we have ever been in the middle of it, we may not realise exactly how serious it is. The unfortunate reality is, it is sometimes those who are least able to defend themselves that are the victims.

That was the case with James Wilmert, a boy with learning disabilities. He was being teased and bullied on the playground at school and 5 of his classmates were pulled aside to ask why they thought that he was being bullied. You would expect that elementary school students would not have much to say on the subject but the fact of the matter is, the responses were rather insightful. In fact, one of the boys said that they were taking advantage of him because he was easier to pick on, and they felt it wasn’t right!

Sometimes, the best thing that can be done to stop the bullying is to educate the students on how to combat the problem. Although bullying is always likely to be a problem, having this type of insight into the issue may go a long way in helping to solve it.
