Charmian Carr, Known By Millions For ‘The Sound Of Music’ Has Died At 73

Charmiane Carr, who is the actress best known for playing the oldest Von Trapp child in The Sound of Music has died. She passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2016. Ms. Carr was 73 years old. Prior to the time that she passed away, she had been suffering from a rare form of dementia.

The role that Charmiane was best known for was playing Liesel Von Trapp, the eldest daughter of the Von Trapp family. She was in the film along with Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer and a number of other well-known actors. During the time that the film was made, 51 years ago, she was 21 years old.
