It is difficult to find anyone who has not heard of Kelly Clarkson but she got her start from a rather unusual area. Perhaps you are familiar with her stint on American Idol, and how she won the first season and took the world by storm that year. That was 14 years ago, but for those of us who watched with a big smile on our face as she performed week after week, it seems like it was just yesterday.
Sometimes I think it would be nice to step back in time and relive those moments again. Fortunately, you don’t need to wish any longer, because this wonderful video is going to take you back to 2002. Kelly Clarkson was still coming into her own in that year, but it was when she covered Aretha Franklin that she really took everyone, including the judges by surprise.
When she covers the Aretha Franklin song, Respect, it is difficult not to feel that same emotion for Ms. Clarkson herself. Certainly, she deserves respect for the abilities that she has and the fact that she is able to perform them in front of others so wonderfully.
