When we are a young child, we are often not given the opportunity to speak our mind. We may have something to say and certainly, a seven-year-old child would have something to say, but being able to say it is an entirely different story. That is especially true when you’re dealing with a disorder, including Down syndrome. What this young girl had to say, however, is something that everybody needs to hear.
The genetic order known as Down syndrome can cause a child to experience delayed developmental or intellectual growth. Not everybody wit Down syndrome has the same disabilities and there may be different levels with which they are able to comprehend and live on their own. That doesn’t mean, however, that everybody is going to understand what is taking place and many people are just going to judge without really thinking about it.
Sophia Sanchez is a seven-year-old girl with Down syndrome and it is her aim to change the way people feel about the disorder. In this video, she answers questions given by her mother and you are going to appreciate how perfect her answers get.
