What would you do if you won the lottery? I’m not talking about millions of dollars, but if you won $200 from a scratch ticket, what would you do? Many people would spend the money on themselves or perhaps their family and some would even spend it all on more lottery tickets! For a young woman named Sophia, however, the winnings went in an entirely different direction.
As a single mother of three who struggles financially, Sophia was more than happy to spend the money on her family. As she left the gas station with the ticket in her hand, however, she saw that there was a man standing in the freezing cold holding a sign saying “Anything Would Help.” As she got closer, she realised he was crying and that is when she rolled down her window and told him she would buy him a cup of coffee.
As they sat together and enjoyed a cup of coffee, he told her that he had been homeless for three years and slept on the streets. It was then that she took the $200 that she had just won and did something that truly made her a modern-day hero.
