Sometimes the advertising executives create an ad campaign that simply hits it out of the park. When you consider that there are millions of people trying to come up with a memorable advertising campaign that captures the imagination and gets people talking, it is actually surprising how few actually achieve their goal.
But every once in a while they score a home run, and when I saw this particular advert for Dr Pepper which just so happens to be my favourite drink anyway and it involves a dog I was probably doomed to love it anyways.
Dr Pepper is certainly an original taste and makes you stand out from the crowd and that is the angle of this advert. The dog featured is a Puli a Hungarian that has fur like dreadlocks. The premise of the advert is that this little dog is homeless, and due to his fur when he lies down at night to sleep, people think he is a discarded mop, and step over him. That is until the driver of a Dr Pepper truck takes ownership of the dog and the two become best buddies. This is a truly magical and fun advert, that really connects with the audience. Time for a Dr Pepper I think.
