Dustin From ‘Stranger Things’ Talks Openly About His Disability

Many of us have become familiar with Dustin, from “Stranger Things,” and the role that is played by Gaten Matarazzo. This young man has a disability and not only is he not ashamed of it, he is not afraid to discuss it openly on a chat show as well. He recently was on The Jonathan Ross Show, and he discussed the condition that he was born with, known as cleidocranial dysplasia. This condition affects the development of teeth and bones.

The 14-year-old actor spoke about his condition quite frankly to Jonathan Ross. He does not have any collarbones and he speaks with a lisp, because he still has all of his baby teeth. Aside from the fact that he has to go through these difficulties, he really doesn’t have a problem with it. In fact, he wants nothing more than to raise awareness for the condition and to let people know that disabilities are not something they should be ashamed of.

Although this young lad is a talented actor, he was rejected from one show after another for two years because of the disability. It was then that the creators of Stranger Things decided they would embrace his condition and create Dustin, who also has it.
