When we go to purchase eggs at the grocery store, many of us don’t think about what it may have taken to get them to us. In many cases, chickens live in inhumane conditions and after they have lived out their life in small enclosures, forced to lay eggs without being able to move, they are the gassed when their “useful” lifespan has ended.
Fortunately, not all of the chickens are going to experience this fate and for 3000 hens, they were able to lead a happy life after those years had past rather than being put to death. A rescue organization save those hens who were under two years old and allowed them to experience life as chickens should experience it. It is quite touching to see them enjoy something so simple.
When these ladies were able to see their first snow, the rescue organization decided to video it so that everyone could enjoy their reaction. They came pouring out of their barn and when they first hit the edge of the snow, they came to an immediate stop. It only took a little while, however, before their curiosity got the best of the and something wonderful happened.
